There was discussion on changing this course from the classroom version to Distance Learning. There was some questions on what type of software should be used in the course and it was decided to use Ultra Tax Software. Jim Doss suggested that we add a lab component to the course, the Task Force approved the addition of the lab. ACNT 1392 would become a pre requisite for ACNT 1393. The Accounting Technician Program is becoming a night time program.

There was some discussion on the content of this course. Reed wanted us to have a look at the syllabus for this course. It should be a survey level course of Financial/Managerial materials. The department is looking to have this course with the online version only. We will do the best we can during the Spring Semester in the classroom version.

There was discussion on how to boost enrollment in these courses, perhaps offering them online. Also, area high schools are teaching these two courses as dual enrollment credit for the high school students that include Quickbooks certification. ACC will be offering a competency exam with a 80% pass rate, it will be a midterm and final for ACNT 1403/ACNT 1404. t courses There was also a change to have the course be taught Quickbooks in 1404 for the students to be certified in Qyuickbooks, using a site license to take exams. It was discussed and approved that we change the course from 4-3-3 to a 4-3-2 . Another suggestion would be to change these courses to a night program. Discussion on having a Flex lab for Technician (open Lab)so that students not have to be in the classroom for 5 hours.

There was discussion on adding two courses to the 12 week session of the Spring Semester. It was decided to add another section of ACNT 1331 online and a section of ACNT 1371 at the Highland Campus. Changing ACNT 1403 to an evening session and make the Technician Program an evening program.
