Item # 2:
Administrative Rule Change Proposal for 4.06.002
Presenter
Gaye Lynn
Discussion
A proposal to change Administrative Rule 4.06.002 (''Staffing of Adjunct Faculty'') was presented. The proposal seeks to further define ''Senior'' status as one in which the instructor has 10 semesters or more (with no more than two counted in each academic year) in the same discipline.
As this relates to eStaffing, the proposal eliminates the category ''MSTA Exception'', and replaces that category, which has the highest order priority within eStaffing with ''MSTA Senior''. The practical ramifications of the change is that the first priority group staffed within eStaffing would be the larger ''MSTA Senior'' population. The MSTA (non-Senior) population would be second in order. Senior designation for Phase 2 Adjuncts would have no effect. All Adjunct instructors (at the Phase 2 level) would continue to be processed as the last group in random order.
The eStaffing agreed to forward the recommendation to Mike Midgley for discussion at a future ACAC meeting.

Discussion
Glen gave an update on the demo of the eStaffing system performed for the AFA Officers and the President's Leadership Team at a meeting on November 21, 2011. The demo focused on the Department Chairs' tasks in assigning sections and how the random ordering of sections works in conjunction with adjunct faculty section preferences.
