Departmental Procedures
Presenter
CORE Committee
Discussion
Reviewed ''Adding New Vendors to Datatel UI'', a 7-page procedural document in pdf format, provided by the Purchasing department. A nice document that seemed to be good and accurate.
Reviewed ''Procedures for Creating a New Record'', an older document provided by the Financial Aid department. This document may need updating. The Committee looks forward to reviewing other student system procedures.
Many were unable to attend today's meeting due to heavier-than-normal student needs and project demands.
Item # 3:
Active Departments
Presenter
Andrew Christie
Discussion
There are currently 83 ''active'' departments that have 0 current employees. Many of these departments would seem to be ''inactive''.
The Committee was able to identify 36 that were likely to be obsolete. The Committee will perform a little further research before making a recommendation as to which of the 36 departments should have the active-flag set to ''I'' (Inactive).
Item # 4:
Updates: QAS Pro, ODS
Presenter
Andrew Christie
Discussion
The newest version of QAS Pro has been purchased and a project plan for implementation is ''in progress''. QAS Pro intercedes with Colleague to ensure valid address data.
This month's focus on ODS data ''issues'' found that 4 PERPOSWG records need correction, 3 VENDOR records had name-length violations, and 3 (fairly old) VOUCHERS records had multiple vendor ids in the single-value VOU.VENDOR field.
Andrew & Jim will coordinate with Carol & Reed about the recommended length of vendor name fields
Item # 5:
