Faculty evaluation
Dr. Perez reported that the flex form was built for Fall 09 for Professor Jane Billingsley and the Professional Business Office department. She explained that 16 B and 16 C sessions will be in Feb and March 2010 for the first time.
Dr. Perez reported that doing a second data run in mid October before packaging our pink envelopes
uncovered about 150 classes who were added late or changed professor.
Dr. Perez also reported on cases of computer assisted courses evaluation that Department Chairs are not evaluating. The EC asked that all courses be evaluated and that all DC decisions like these ones go up to the Dean level for approval.
Dr. Perez reported that logs with lead clerks in mail rooms have worked well and will remain a practice of tracking from now on. The volume to track is growing every fall but the coordination and cooperation between building managers and mail room clerks has been outstanding.
Dr. Perez reported that as of 12/4/09 FSEO had received about half of the 4955 courses on paper evaluation; she also said that about 1000 paper course evaluations had been processed to date. We are on schedule to send reports and CDs will be sent first week of classes after MLK day.
Dr. Perez reported upon request of Joe Lostracco, FSEO is going to include in the CD envelope (with the departmental evaluation reports) a reminder to all chairs of the timelines and due dates for adjunct and for full-time faculty summary evaluation forms.
Dr. Perez reported that a notice for Distance Learning message was sent through Black Board to all distance learning students. It substantially reduced calls on how to do these evaluations from students and professors.
Action Item:
Dr. Perez will investigate how to how to tag courses for Hybrid evaluation through the online system.
Staff evaluation
Dr. Perez reported that the department Chair PEP form was e-mailed to deans for feedback. Discussion ensued as to how to provide feedback and other concerns, specifically to make the form be more parallel to the Department Chair job description.
Action Item:
Dr. Perez will investigate integrate input and circulate for Deans' approval in January.

The committee asked if there was access to a Department chair job Description n the HR website. Dr. Perez informed the committee that HR compensation normally takes care of that task.
