Course Requirements
Final grades will be based on weekly sketchbook submissions, class projects, class assignments, and online class participation which may include the following:
- Weekly Sketchbook Submissions
- Class Drawing Assignments
- Shade & Shadow Assignment
- Collage Assignment
- Midterm Project
- Perspective Assignment
- Final Project
- Class Participation
Readings
Required weekly reading assignments will be posted on Blackboard and will be assigned out of the required textbook listed below. Other non-textbook readings may be assigned throughout the semester and will be posted as course links in Blackboard. Students are expected to keep up with daily reading assignments as assigned.

Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, students will:
1. Use a range of freehand drawing media and skills related to visual communication.
2. Use drawing as the means of architectural problem solving.
3. Use graphic tools to record visual observations.-
4. Recognize the importance of line weight to the perception of drawings.
5. Draw freehand lines of various forms, shapes, textures, and qualities.
