Teaching Experience

September 1989 to Date: Adjunct Professor Austin Community College - Legal Assistant Program. Classes taught include Introduction to Law, Legal System & Ethics, Jurisprudence, Cyber Law & Constitutional Law. Speaker and Author at numerous Bar related seminars on Legal Issues in the War on Terrorism, Habeas Corpus and Criminal Appeals and other criminal law topics.

 

LEGAL EXPERIENCE

August 1985 - Present: Private Practice of Law, Austin. Primarily engaged in criminal defense in Texas State Trial and Appellate Courts as well as Federal Trial and Appellate Courts. Also served as a special prosecutor in Texas Trial and Appellate Courts. In addition served as defense counsel in General Courts Martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice in both the United States Air Force and Unites States Army.

Sept 1980 - July 1985: Staff Attorney and Chief Staff Attorney Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

January 1979 - August 1980: Research Assistant for Judge Tom G. Davis, Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

May 1976 - December 1978: Assistant Attorney General of Texas, Law Enforcement Division.

September 1975 - May 1976: Briefing Attorney for Judge Archie S. Brown, Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

Supervising a team of 20 lawyers and legal assistants providing legal support to subordinate units. Activated for 45 days for hurricanes Rita and Katrina (2005). COL 1997.
