General Statement of Job

To provide high volume of interactions, academic advising, follow-up and related support to new applicants through the enrollment and initial career pathway process at Austin Community College (ACC) striving to remove obstacles in their college and career path.  Responsible for providing consistent information regarding all areas of Enrollment Services. Performs a variety of activities to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the district-wide enrollment services department.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Represents Enrollment Services and acts as a liaison to departments, sharing information and updates regarding enrollments services.
  2. Provides enrollment and/or academic advising to applicants by reviewing areas of study, explaining career options along with various degree plans, college readiness, assessment, TSI compliance, adjustment to college life, study habits, financial wellness, financial aid information, steps to enroll, and career and transfer options to consider.
  3. Receives, records, and identifies requests via phone, email, and web from prospects, applicants, current students, faculty and staff.  Maintains and updates records and files.
  4. Conducts communication campaigns with outbound calls, emails, or social media to applicants who have started or submitted their application.
  5. Contacts applicants within the specified time frame to confirm they are on track with the enrollment process and provide any assistance needed.
  6. Gathers, compiles and enters data, producing routine and specialized reports and documents; maintains web pages, student information database, files, records, logs and other tracking systems. Assists applicants with account resets.
  7. Serves as referral to students for services when needed.
  8. Resolves problems and issues referred by other departments across the college.
  9. Research challenges and determine course of action; makes independent determinations, decisions and recommendations.  Refers issues to appropriate college's resource when needed.
  10. Records and resolves all application processing errors; monitors progress through to resolution.
  11. Works collaboratively with other Student Affairs areas, Instructional Units.  Is an expert in one Area of Study and supports all other Areas of Study as needed.
  12. May staff Enrollment Centers when direct student support is necessary for enrollment campaigns. May move to other campus locations as needed.
