Criminal Background Check Pre-employment criminal background checks are required for all Staff and Faculty positions. Pre-employment urinalyses drug screens are also required for all top candidates considered for positions in ACC's College Police department.

General Statement of Job

Develops, analyzes and audits benefits reports, processes employee data, determines employee benefit eligibility, and serves as a member of the Benefits Team by providing benefit counseling and assistance.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Analyzes and determines benefits eligibility for all employees.
  2. Enters and updates insurance program changes in the database and other changes to employee leave and benefits.
  3. Reviews documents and processes new hire benefits including verifying retirement eligibility with other agencies and institutions.
  4. Assists and counsels employees with insurance plan inquiries, changes and other benefit related questions and concerns.
  5. Provides benefits counseling and processing, including retirement, insurance, etc.
  6. Reviews and processes Medicare data match coordination of benefits regarding retiree health coverage.
  7. Reviews and maintains retiree dental reimbursement process.
  8. Gathers, compiles, and enters data, producing routine and specialized reports.
  9. Develops and maintains custom reports as needed.
  10. Assists with the coordination and delivery of new hire orientation and open enrollment for employees.
  11. Develops and maintains simple to complex queries for data extraction and analysis.  
  12. Analyzes, prepares, and audits reports.
  13. Provides training on HR Benefits systems and procedures. 
  14. Completes various surveys as assigned.
  15. May assist with employee and other HR communications.

ACC Benefits Overview

Full-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
