General Statement of Job

Directs operations, manages program initiatives, and promotes relationship-building among college departments and community stakeholders by using knowledge of vast ACC student success initiatives across faculty and staff, including understanding of internal and external partnerships with community organizations, business and industry.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Directs and oversees the staff, daily functions and operations of the Make It Center.
  2. Supervises, leads, directs, coaches, mentors, evaluates, and counsels assigned staff while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and termination personnel actions for positions supervised.
  3. Serves as the lead facilitator and primary guide for center tours, showcases, and internal/external programmatic and event collaborations so must be an excellent communicator and speaker.
  4. Identifies, designs, implements, evaluates and works with ACC educational departments, Student Affairs staff, deans, and other college resources to install appropriate programs and pathways to meet the needs of the populations served by the Center.
  5. Assists the Executive Dean, ACC staff and administration in relating to, working with, and establishing productive relationships with community-based organizations and external business and industry partners.
  6. Manages and is responsible for scheduling of credit-bearing classes, Continuing Education classes, and all workshops, seminars, internal ACC activities and external events in the Center for current and future students.
  7. Anticipates and proactively plans for changes in programs and services. Responsible for reviewing and updating all program manuals and presentations. Develops and maintains the policy and procedure manual for the Center. leadership.
  8. Provides leadership in all areas of operations, including monitoring of campus service levels and making adjustments for improvement of customer service and staffing needs and workloads.
  9. Manages all center technology and resources. Identifies and implements solutions to problems related to equipment, digital & interactive displays, computer hardware and software. Responsible for the maintenance of all the unique designated zones with in the center.
  10. Maintains a safe workplace and positive customer relations, responding to internal/external customer inquiries in an efficient and timely manner. Demonstrates an understanding of equity, diversity, and values differences and ensures that all services are developed and delivered within this framework.
  11. Develops, monitors, and coordinator a system of feedback from students, faculty, staff, external partners and all other stakeholders to evaluate the performance of the Center. Serves as key source of information and contact for the College for the Make It Center.
  12. Produces, coordinates and analyze data reports and other analytics regarding student interactions including attendance, program participation, career progress, interventions, etc.
  13. Oversees district-wide and external communications, special programming information and all social media related to the Center and its programming.
  14. Serves as liaison with Public Information and College Marketing in the design and promotion of public relations and marketing initiatives for the Center.
  15. May need represent the center and/or the college on councils, committees, and agencies.
