Note: This position is 100% remote.
Hours This position is Monday-Friday 8:00 am -4:30 pm. This is a remote position. Up to 19 hours per week.
Salary $31.00/hr

To provide specialized, short-term instruction to Upward bound students as a way to enhance students' ability to gain content mastery and be successful in the respective content area.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Provides specialized, short term instruction to high school students.
  2. Develops and correlates curriculum and instruction to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards within the respective content area.
  3. Utilizes best practices in regard to classroom management in order to foster student persistence and success.
  4. Collaborates closely with other Upward Bound Advisors, tutors, and other appropriate personnel to maximize academic benefits for each individual student.
  5. Attends program meetings as assigned.
  6. Manages time and classroom effectively.
  7. Maintains up-to-date records of student grades and progress.
  8. Assists with additional summer program duties as assigned.
