General Statement of Job

The Salesforce Developer will design and develop best-in-class solutions on our evolving Salesforce instance. This includes providing support to the institution through the customization and configuration of the Salesforce platform. The position will be responsible for managing data quality, integrations, security and reporting. The role will work closely with the product managers and key stakeholders to architect and build the future of the CRM platform at Austin Community College (ACC).

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Maintains and customizes Sales Cloud and Service Cloud applications.
  2. Manages Salesforce security including roles, profiles, sharing rules, workflows and groups.
  3. Builds Salesforce applications using Aura/LWC components, JavaScript and Apex and leverage the full capabilities of the Salesforce platform to support the company's programs.
  4. Creates/modifies existing controllers, controller extensions, and triggers across all platforms.
  5. Applies best practices and design patterns of best-of-breed applications developed on the Salesforce.com platform.
  6. Creates and executes unit, integration and user acceptance test plans, including use cases and test data.
  7. Builds custom reports, dashboards, and workflows.
  8. Proactively engages on continuous improvement efforts for application design, support, and practice development efforts.
  9. Provides technical assistance and end user troubleshooting for bug fixes, enhancements, and "how-to" assistance.
  10. Works with our institutional management team to establish suitable processes to support administrative, development, and change management activities.
  11. Maintains database for integrity and accuracy including cleansing and duplicate record management.
  12. Manages all related technical resources and migration of data into Salesforce.
  13. Evaluates new releases of Salesforce to determine functionality requirements and provide detailed information on how changes will apply to all affected departments/users.
