General Statement of Job

To manage college-wide training, prevention, and education programs for all students, staff, and faculty at Austin Community College. Develop and implement new comprehensive prevention and outreach initiatives covering: Sexual Harassment, Sexual Assault, Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, and Stalking.  

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Leads the Compliance Office education and training efforts regarding employee harassment concerns.
  2. Supports the College's mission to maintain an environment for students and employees free from unlawful discrimination in all aspects of the educational experience, including academics, extracurricular activities, and employment.
  3. Manages existing and establishing new College compliance strategies and programs as required by state and federal law.
  4. Coordinates the development and implementation of inclusive prevention education curricula. Topics may include but are not limited to, sexual violence, dating & domestic violence, stalking, sexual harassment, discrimination, consent, bystander intervention, ADA, Title VI, and Title VII.
  5. Develops and implements outreach and sexual assault prevention initiatives focused on faculty, staff, and students at Austin Community College.
  6. Establishes and implements an assessment plan aimed at increasing awareness, education, and progressive collaborations across the College district.
  7. Conducts ongoing outreach education and programs with campus departments and student groups focused on sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination.
  8. Conducts an annual review to identify education and training gaps on topics required by regulatory agencies or identified as an institutional risk.
  9. Provides training for students, faculty, and staff regarding sexual violence prevention.
  10. Enhances current training for faculty and staff to include trauma-informed response, self-care, and awareness of resources.
  11. Expands current partnerships with Student Affairs, Instruction, and Human Resources to include more opportunities for cross-collaboration on training and programs.
  12. Partners with Clery Compliance Officer in defining objectives and goals for prevention education programs.
  13. Promotes prevention and outreach initiatives which includes editing, proofreading, and improving marketing content on a variety of digital platforms, web landing pages, email, social media content, and print materials, etc.
  14. Contributes to the development, implementation, and monitoring of appropriate disclosures, policies, procedures and practices that comply with federal and state legislation, regulation, and case law requiring the prompt, fair and equitable resolution of all complaints pursuant to Title IX.
  15. Plans, develops, maintains and presents, prevention training and education materials related to compliance protections, responsibilities, and campus/community resources for all students and employees, with specialized annual training for Title IX deputies, investigators, and other staff.
  16. Maintains a master calendar detailing all campus-based training and education programming related to sexual misconduct and interpersonal violence. Collaborates with Clinical Counseling and the Office of Student Life to meet objectives and expand outreach opportunities.
  17. Represents the Compliance Department at New Employee and Faculty Orientations, Student Life awareness events, Employee Wellness events.
  18. Serves as a member of the Compliance Taskforce and a rotating member of the Students Rights and Responsibilities Committee.
