General Statement of Job

To interact with future, current, and former students in a call center environment by responding to inquiries and concerns about Austin Community College (ACC) services and procedures in order to help ensure success for college, continuing education, and adult education students.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Deals directly with customers either by telephone, electronic email, or live chat.
  2. Promptly answers questions (or refers questions when necessary) pertaining to Admissions, Financial Aid, Cashier, Distance Learning, Registration, Adult Education, Continuing Education, Early College Start, ACC Identification Numbers, ACC email, and various student resources within and outside of ACC.
  3. Appropriately identifies and coordinates second level requests when special access is required to resolve customer inquiries.
  4. Adheres to Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA) and other federal and state regulations regarding privacy.
  5. Provides feedback on policies and procedures for helpline use and training.
  6. Communicates and coordinates with internal departments.
