General Statement of Job

To provide guidance and development of policies and procedures for reviewing, analyzing, assessing and processing information, records and transcripts for determining academic credit and eligibility for degrees and specialized program designations. 

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends, hire and termination personnel actions for positions supervised.
  2. Develop and implement evaluation policies and procedures for assigned staff; interprets College policies and assures adherence; stays current regarding applicable rules and regulations.
  3. Coordinates, maintains, edits and disseminates materials and manuals.
  4. Develops quality assurance measures by analyzing transcript data entered into system manually or via various electronic processes and creating protocols and performance measures for staff.
  5. Manages computerized student files and credentials; collects documents and certifies authenticity; prepares materials for records retention.
  6. Oversees enhancements and solve technology problems/issues; tests related software updates, patches and trouble shoots inconsistencies in electronic course transfers; collaborates with IT and other departments.
  7. Directs the evaluation and awarding of credit for foreign and domestic college level transfer work, international baccalaureate, advanced placement, and college level exam placement score reports and military work.
  8. Researches and analyzes course descriptions and transfer of credit policies to determine transfer of credit eligibility; performs evaluations, data entry and record retrieval from mainframe.
  9. Generates and prepares reports and written materials for Associate Registrar, academic departments and other College departments; assists with building programs in data base.
  10. Assists in special events such as graduation ceremony and faculty and staff training.
