General Statement of Job

Responsible for leadership, overall planning, management, completion and implementation of a large complex and high priority workforce development and apprenticeship Department of Labor grant working toward reducing inequity and employment barriers for learners by increasing access to quality work-based learning (WBL) opportunities.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws.  Recommends hire and termination personnel actions for positions supervised.
  2. Collaborates with external and college stakeholders and staff to provide direction and input in the development of implementation strategies, processes, and programs; ensures compliance with best practices, federal guidelines, and college requirements.
  3. Directs the implementation, daily operations, and staff of the DOL TXIT Apprenticeship grant in accordance with the project goals, deliverables, objectives and established timelines.
  4. Hires, supervises, trains, mentors, motivates, and evaluates the TXIT staff to meet established TXIT goals, objectives, strategies, and processes.
  5. Collaborates with staff and college resources to facilitate the collection, analysis, and reporting of quantitative and qualitative data.
  6. Provides appropriate documentation and data to the grant lead for quarterly reports.
  7. Collaborates with college stakeholders to develop a strategic plan for students and industry partner recruitment.
     
  8. Coordinates and collaborates with budget authority to monitor budget expenditures.
  9. Coordinates with college stakeholders to develop pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship models.
  10. Collaborates with the development, process, and procedure to document, maintain, and approve apprenticeship applications for students and industry partners.
  11. Provides content and works with multi-media specialist to maintain website, marketing materials, video, and social media campaigns.
