Criminal Background Check Pre-employment criminal background checks are required for all Staff and Faculty positions. Pre-employment urinalyses drug screens are also required for all top candidates considered for positions in ACC's College Police department.

General Statement of Job

To direct programs and services of the Virtual College of Texas and assist the Executive Director in administering and operationally supporting a statewide consortium of Texas' community college districts, which inter-institutionally share digital learning resources, including instruction, administration, research, technology, and services.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Manages collection and analysis of complex data and conducts research on VCT services and programs for continuous improvement and reporting to the state. Assists VCT member colleges with data collection and research on digital learning.
  2. Assists the Executive Director in identifying potential sources for revenue, including federal, state, and private grants, and contributes to grant application and administration processes.
  3. Provides support to the Texas Quality Matters Consortium (TxQMC) system lead. Oversees data collection and analysis to manage growth and further development of the consortium. Communicates with member institutions and potential members.
  4. Conducts and disseminates research on VCT programs and services, as well as digital learning at community colleges across Texas, at conferences and in white papers and publications.
  5. Creates and deploys professional development opportunities, such as conferences, webinars, online courses and certifications, for VCT members, often in collaboration with VCT partner organization, STARLINK.
  6. Manages VCT projects and initiatives as assigned by Executive Director (e.g. State Authorization Network system membership, course sharing platform, open educational resource projects, etc.).
  7. Meets with senior level administrators at VCT member colleges to assess needs and share information regarding VCT services and consortial collaborations.
  8. Assists the Executive Director in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with non profits and other organizations in order to fulfill the goals of VCT's strategic plan.
  9. Serve as liaison to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) on matters related to VCT inter-institutional course sharing practices.
  10. Performs complex activities using word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and survey development software.  Designs and produces handouts, newsletters, brochures, presentations, or other materials as needed.

ACC Benefits Overview

Full-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
