General Statement of Job

To manage projects for the office of Instructional Web Services. Coordinates the planning and initiation of projects at various levels of completion; monitors the progress and schedule of projects; and communicates with project stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties. Provides reports on project status and evaluation.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and termination personnel actions for positions supervised.
  2. Coordinates project activities with stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties including development of schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and projections.
  3. Monitors and manages Web project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the project requirements.
  4. Communicates and explains project processes to project stakeholders and others.
  5. Monitors and manages project parameters to ensure project is completed within agreed upon timelines.
  6. Compiles and distributes project status reports and other project information as needed.
  7. Develops criteria for evaluating projects, proposals, and other pertinent information related to project assignments.
  8. Identifies potential project risks and difficulties and informs management of issues. Works to design strategies to mitigate or avoid risks.
  9. Develops annual and long-range plans for instructional web development components of the college's web-based instructional content while still complying with security and data protection standards.
  10. Applies new technology, media, interactive research, and emerging standards related to accessibility, e-learning and web development.
