General Statement of Job

Coordinates and tracks student conduct issues; responsible for training student conduct policies and processes.  

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Receives, reviews, and processes reports of alleged violations of ACC's Student Standards of Conduct.  Carries out initial research and determines or follows appropriate process or response for a variety of situations.
  2. Receives, reviews, and processes student complaints and follows up with the appropriate division deans and department chairs.  Assists students with problem-solving and dealing with the barriers to attending and succeeding the program completion.
  3. Ensures that each complaint is efficiently processed. Responsible for maintaining accurate electronic student conduct records.
  4. Develops and conducts ongoing training to faculty and staff in how to respond to student behavioral concerns.  This may include classroom management, best practices/trends around due process, and ACC policies and procedures (including local, state, and federal law.)
  5. Develops and conducts ongoing education to students about behavioral expectations, college policies and procedures and appropriate means of conflict resolution.  Facilitates group information and skill building workshops.  May develop and deliver classroom instruction on college success.
  6. Develops and implements outreach, training, and educational workshops to all campus constituency groups regarding policies, procedures, ethics, and best practices in student conduct and support.
  7. Maintains partnerships with college stakeholders for education and outreach on student rights and responsibilities. Serves as liaison among faculty, staff, and deans to ensure ongoing implementation of student rights and responsibilities rules and guidelines/procedures.
  8. Maintains Student Rights and Responsibilities website.
  9. Gather, compile, and produce specialized reports and documents.
  10. Serves as software management administrator.
  11. Provides student conduct software case management training for new and current users.
  12. Works collaboratively with stakeholders to maximize the use of the software districtwide.
  13. Audits student conduct and student complaint cases.
