General Statement of Job

To coordinate and support public affairs, government relations, and community engagement activities for the College.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Coordinates and supports public affairs, government relations, and community engagement activities.
  2. Tracks legislation and ordinances that could potentially impact ACC and its students and reports out to department leadership.
  3. Coordinates the activities of the Campus Advisory Committees.
  4. Supports the department's efforts to build and maintain relationships to the ACC Service Area's network of elected officials and local government partners.
  5. Works with the Manager of Elections on voter registration and training activities.
  6. Coordinates and develops the department's Social Media feeds and web presence.
  7. Assists the AVP in increasing the College's reach into underserved communities.
  8. Provides assistance to the department on special projects as needed.
