Hours Generally 8-5, may require some evening and/or weekend hours. Not to exceed 19 hours per week.

Tutors students in accordance with College policies and procedures.

NOTE:  This position is for a Nurse Tutor.  Tutor develops, organizes, and implements learning strategies for students enrolled in the Professional Nursing Program.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Provides individual and group instruction sessions based on student/program needs.
  2. Maintains professional competence and participates in professional development activities.
  3. Collaborates with Professional Nursing faculty to enhance student outcomes in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings.
  4. Utilizes innovative teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of a diverse student population including, but not limited to, interactive video technology, online format and other uses of technology in the classroom and lab setting.
  5. In collaboration with faculty, develops and implements individualized action plans based on student learning needs.
