Hours 40 hours/week as assigned; Generally Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings and weekends

General Statement of Job

To assist in providing technical support in the administration of student scholarships and reconciliation of student scholarship funds; assist in providing financial aid information and guidance to students.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Provides financial aid information to students regarding programs, application procedures, availability of funds, procedures for applying, and disbursement of funds as well as responding to financial aid inquiries.
  2. Reviews scholarship and student financial aid applications to determine eligibility based on federal and state regulations and donor requirements.
  3. Oversees conducting of student survey data, gathering data, and monitoring of all the scholarship information workshop forms and supplies for legal compliance and reporting purposes.
  4. Audits scholarship management database for completed applications, creates committee review groups, ensures committee meets and obtains recommendations, and generates reports to use for supervisor, Austin Community College (ACC) Foundation, and other college departments.
  5. Receives and deposits donor checks, applies funds to student accounts, updates scholarship award database, reconciles end of the month expenditures, generates beginning and end of semester reports, and completes required surveys for various scholarship programs and outside agencies.
  6. Conducts outreach programs with area high schools and community agencies to promote scholarship opportunities.
  7. Reviews and resolves scholarship issues from multiple campuses financial aid offices.
  8. Serves as a liaison with ACC Foundation, ACC departments, external donors, and outside agencies such as the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
  9. Assists with training of new departmental employees.
  10. Coordinates a variety of financial aid transmissions to accounting.
  11. Coordinate and maintain database for emergency aid program.
