General Statement of Job

Coordinates and assists with planning, developing, communicating, and administering student cohorts within the College Prep Department.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Plans, organizes, coordinates, and facilitates college prep classes including organizing speakers, tours, assessment, and other special events.
  2. Recruits, interviews, and selects students for college prep cohorts.
  3. Serves as communication liaison.
  4. Works collaboratively with internal departments of the college and Austin area community organizations to market and recruit for the College Prep Department.
  5. Gathers and compiles data for reports including grant required documentation.
  6. Maintains and updates database information.
  7. May research, evaluate, and make recommendations related to College Prep Department.
  8. Participates in and/or coordinates instructor hiring process.
  9. Supports instructors with supplies, curriculum needs, classroom management issues, etc.
  10. May maintain and update website.
  11. Tracks student progress during college prep classes and after students exit for up to one year.
  12. Assists and advises students to support student success during and after they leave the class for up to one year.
