General Statement of Job

To manage special support services for low income students and foster care/adopted students and related grant activities, especially the Perkins Basic grant.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Manages and coordinates special services that support low income students and foster care/adopted students.
  2. Manages and coordinates the Perkins Basic grant activities, as well as other grants that support low income students and foster care/adopted students. This includes coordinating and completing applications, preparing reports, monitoring grant budgets, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  3. Collects, stores, and maintains data for statistical reporting regarding student progress and completion.
  4. Maintains and updates relevant websites.
  5. Provides advising and referrals for individuals and groups, including career and educational planning, decision-making, values clarification, and understanding and overcoming barriers to academic success.
  6. Selects and recommends textbooks to be purchased for the Textbook Collection.
  7. Participates in program planning, development, and documentation regarding the provision of special support services and grants.
  8. Serves as an information and referral resource to students, faculty, staff, and the community with regard to special support services and grants.
  9. Problem-solves with faculty, staff, and students regarding the provision of special support services and grant-related activities.
  10. Collaborates with other Austin Community College (ACC) departments and programs on projects that serve students who require special support services.
