Student Learning Outcomes/Learning Objectives

Course Description

This course is designed as an introduction to business for all majors. Business is global. Therefore, an understanding of the global economy has become a foundation for nearly all business activity.

In a global economy it is especially important to study differences between countries and understand how Political, Legal, Economic, and Cultural differences are linked to the various strategic choices businesses adopt in order to compete internationally. Therefore, this course puts a special emphasis on national differences. By the end of the course, students will enhance their ability to understand and explain international business practices.

Because this is an introductory course, a significant portion of the course will be taught through lectures. However, the course may also include guest speakers, video clips, class discussions of specific topics, and readings designed to allow you to apply specific concepts to current events and business activity.
